Duality

Belief is a consistent stable state of being. When we believe we feel peace, we feel belonging to a higher truth and we feel we have a reference to go back to when confused or faced with complex problems.

Duality on the other hand is a state of total confusion and it fosters anger and sadness in us. Some lives it as a style of life but they never stop and ask themselves if they practice certain things in one time and forget them in other times though they still supposedly carry the same "label', value and definition at all times. One must ask if they believe in the nature of their actions or none actions? If they simply believe?

Belief is a constant state of being.....

Duality is a mental illness of sort. Choosing a day of the week or a month in the year to refrain from what one does all year round though those actions are labeled and classified the same again, all year round is simply a form of mental instability and belies their own said belief. A belief is stable and not changeable, it is consistent and not dual.

We fall into duality when we choose to follow a path that was imposed on us by birth rather than by our own choice. Spirituality needs to stem from within, through experience and trial and through finding a way of peace and consistency.

One should muster the courage to choose their own life and their own convictions and the courage to examine the depth of those said convection and the reason of their weakness. Like all external systems imposed by tradition we all carry seeds of conflict between what makes us truly happy and that what we were told to be our happiness and our peace. Unless we have the courage to face that conflict and resolve it, we will continuously suffer from its ailing and saddening impact.

One reason why solving this conflict is hard stems from our need for approval by family and friends. Our parents and our community and sometimes our significant others. We wear their mantle to be accepted by them but we never examine the mantle or try to find the holes in it and deal with them. If a prescription was given by our physician and it causes us constant side effects that are worse than the illness itself, is it logical to continue taking it? What if we doubt the physician credentials or if the medicine was given by a third party and not by the physician himself, what if the medicine was prescribed to someone else or for some other illness and situation? What if the medicine is expired since it was created long time ago and no longer in its current form is suitable for human consumption?

The need for approval prevents us from change

Asking the right questions and finding our true inner truths is not a cause for alarm or a prescription to reject our traditions. It is a way to face our weakness and to challenge our own duality from which we might emerge stronger. Tradition in itself is not bad and a way is truly as good as it serves its purpose which should include our peace and happiness as well.

Spiritual paths are only crafted by those who will adopt them. We have the ingredient and it is a long hard way to create the medicine that works for us. Experience and the sense of peace it brings will prove if it is the right thing to adopt. The ability to achieve consistency through constant application in various situations and circumstances will prove if it is the right cure.

It is a sad thing for many of us to carry our doubts around like an eternal burden until the day we leave this life. Feeling unhappy and guilty at heart and struggling with life decisions throughout its duration. It is unhealthy to have unstable values that change with time and with circumstances and that we have a hard time to defend or uphold. Where we stand spiritually defines who we are. In order to define our decisions and choices in life, it is important to define our spirituality first and our beliefs.

The success of our choice is evident through the impact of our beliefs on our happiness and stability and on our level of confidence by which we make our life choices and the great results we will see in the follow up. It is evident through the peace and soul fulfillment and through the constant nourishment we can obtain in all circumstances even when hard, challenging or depriving.

One of the biggest manifestations of spiritual failure is duality and guilt. If you experience those symptoms then something is not quite right. Application of a spiritual path needs not to be hard if we believe in it. It is like the ease of doing anything when we are in love. We do not tire or have hardships to serve and be with those we care truly for and it is the same case here.

One of the biggest manifestations of spiritual failure is duality and guilt...

If we can apply our beliefs to our life with ease and joy and consistency then we truly believe, otherwise we need to go back and examine our faith.

True faith brings joy. From joy everything good and whole springs and life becomes more tolerable and even joyful. One needs to ask themselves where the tear in their soul exists and try to heal it and move forward because no loss is more hurting or destructive than this loss.
